The Big Wet – Seven of 8ight
The English nurse God bless her has just rang me on her Sat phone she’s been out in the sticks all day holding a medical clinic at a roadhouse 150km due south.
Apparently she’s had an horrendous journey back and is soaking wet through. The creeks are rising and in places she can’t see the road for water.
It’s not much fun walking the creeks testing flood levels before driving through. She has a company 4WD but maybe an Amphibious vehicle would be more appropriate. The creeks she tells me are rising fast with all sorts of things being washed down including the odd backpacker in a Combi van!
All she wants is a hot shower when she gets home but I haven’t the heart to tell her that the septic system has overflowed again!
Queensland whats the saying?
Perfect one day bloody terrible the next?
