Sunset  – One of 8ight

So here we are back from our holiday across the Gulf armed with about 2600 new images to sift through!
This weeks series of 8ight is on the theme of Sunsets.
Today’s image was taken overlooking Leichhardt Lagoon 20km due south of Normanton in Far North Queensland.
Such an idyllic place to sit and watch the serenity of the sunset accompanied by the drone of hundreds of Generators emanating from the campsites of  “Death as a post Grey Nomads.”
Don’t get me started!!

Dogs  – Six of 8ight

‘Banjo’

I think I could turn and live with animals ,
they are so placid and self-contained
I stand and look at them long and long .
They do not sweat and whine about their condition ,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins ,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God ,
Not one is dissatisfied ,
not one is demented with the mania of owning things ,
Not one kneels to another ,
nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago ,
Not one is respectable or industrious over the whole earth .

Walt Whitman. ( I couldn’t have put it better myself )
